What happens when you bring together art, good food, meaningful conversation and a room full of women willing to try something new? You get an evening that is creative, relaxed, entertaining—and a whole lot of fun!
That was Canvas & Conversation, an intimate creative evening hosted by EVOLVE at Soma Cafe on August 29th.
The mixed-media workshop, conducted by Evolve member Sunneera, the Artist behind Artilycious, was all about pausing, creating and expressing ourselves. The focus wasn't on creating perfect art, but on exploring the woman you are, the woman you want to be, and perhaps discovering a side of yourself you don't often get to explore.
And no—you didn't have to be an artist!
With Sunneera's guidance and all the materials provided, everyone had the freedom to experiment with colours, textures and different elements. There was no right or wrong way to create—just an opportunity to play, explore and enjoy the process.
The intimate setting at Soma Café added to the experience. Introductions quickly turned into conversations, laughter and shared stories. It was networking without the pressure—simply meeting people, connecting and seeing where the conversation took you.
And, of course, there was good food! From nachos to herb rice with chicken schnitzel and grilled stuffed zucchini, Soma Café added its own flavour to the evening, along with a bright orange drink that perfectly matched the cheerful mood.
For Evolve, evenings like this add another dimension to our community. While we are passionate about building businesses, sharing knowledge and creating opportunities, we also believe in creating spaces where women can step away from their busy lives, connect and simply enjoy being together.
Canvas & Conversation was exactly that—art without intimidation, networking without pressure, food without the rush, and conversations that flowed naturally.
Sometimes, the best way to recharge is to do something completely different.
To create. To laugh. To connect. To express yourself.
And to spend a late morning that simply fills your cup.
